In many cases, yes. Standard white breads and store-bought breads do not contain the nutrients wild birds need, and such breads cannot be digested properly. Beak Bread is specially designed to contain nutrients wild birds need for optimal health. 

Beak Bread is the only bird-friendly bread around. It contains no white flour, sugar, yeast, or preservatives that make regular bread bad for birds. Our bread and mix have been tested by the Agricultural Service Laboratory at Clemson University to attain a guaranteed analysis that measures the amount of crude protein, crude fat, and crude fiber contained. Beak Bread is registered with the SCDA. 

Just think about what birds find and eat in nature. It's grains, seeds, insects, and fruit. Beak Bread contains each of these ingredients (oat powder, sunflower seed hearts, mealworm powder, and unsweetened applesauce).

Beak Bread is safe for all wild birds and can be fed to the birds you find in your backyard, at the park, the lake, or at the beach. 

Beak Bread loaves will last ten days on the shelf, two weeks in the refrigerator, and one year in your freezer.  Our Beak Bread mix will last for a year on the shelf.

Beak Bread should be thawed before sharing with the birds. Simply leave it on your counter for an hour, or thaw in the microwave before use. You will see condensation on the outside of the bag. That's perfectly normal!

Do not feed birds moldy bread. If you see signs of mold, discard immediately. 

Because some people consider birds to be a nuisance, feeding them is not allowed in certain states, counties, and residential developments. Consult with ordinances and regulations before choosing the right spot. Never break the law to feed a bird!

Calmly explain to them that unlike ordinary bread, Beak Bread is nutritious and healthful for birds. Ask them to scan the QR code on the bag and to read about our product.

Absolutely. Crumble up a handful of Beak Bread, sprinkle it in with your favorite bird seed, and put it in your feeder.

Yes! In fact, Beak Bread has higher concentrations of crude fat and crude protein than many bird seeds on the market. Simply compare our Guaranteed Analysis with theirs and you’ll see!

You can buy our Beak Bread mix to make at home. The instructions are on the mix label. Simply add a 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce and a 3/4 cup of water to the mix, stir it all up, place it in an 8x4 inch bread loaf pan, and bake it at 350 for 40-50 minutes.

We send the mix in a bag that can be used to store your loaf of Beak Bread after you have made it (and it has cooled). 

Making your own Beak Bread is a great way to add to the bird-feeding experience. Bake it alone or with your children, grandchildren, friends, or loved ones. (It's also a great gift for the bird lovers in your life!)

We intentionally leave the loaves unsliced. We want you to really tear into the bread and experience the texture of it. How much a bird eats depends on the bird. Tear off small pieces (fingertip-sized) for small birds and larger pieces for larger birds. 

Beak Bread is not made for human consumption. Beak Bread does not contain toxic ingredients, but it is designed specifically to accommodate the nutritional and digestive needs of birds.
